Experiment Balance Discussion(Especially 3P)

Post by lancelotvvv »

I'm fairly new to Nucleum and have only played a few 2-player games and two 3-player games so far.

Based on my limited experience, Experiment C seems particularly strong in 3-player games. Rushing C7 allows players to power most neutral buildings early, generating a significant income advantage and making it easier to unlock additional techs. It also provides incredible flexibility, such as making it much easier to power buildings in Praha.

I'm curious if there are any BGA statistics showing win rates for different experiments (A/B/C/D), ideally broken down by player count.

I'd also love to hear from more experienced players about how balanced the experiments are in 3-player games. Am I overestimating C?

The game has a lot of variables that can make one experiment stronger then other each game.
For example, a game with Turbine, Mines and Energized Buildings in milestones is perfect for C. A game with a lot of types of buildings in milestones is better for A.
Roads? For D.

U can win with any experiment, in my first couple games I also thought that C was overpowered, but it is really not. You play enough and you will see.

Nowadays I prefer to play B or D in a 3-player game

I do not agree with the previous assessment of D.
D is definitely weaker then the rest.
My rating after also higher ELO plays would be B>A>C>>D
The reason why B is almost always picked first is for 2 reasons:
1. It is very flexible in almost any scenario.
2. The starting tiles have the best combination to unlock level 3 Tech very fast. Also it is very hard to beat B on purple objectives for mines or uranium due to their level 1 tech.
Especially in higher ELO tempo is everything and games are often decided within the first 5 moves, therefore B is exceptional strong.
Of course you can win with any Experiment and in some scenarios A or C also have a good shot on winning against B, but if ELO is same it often requires some luck on the tiles since B's level 3 tiles are really exceptionally good, not to mention the - in my opinion -strongest level 2 techs.
