I used to play this game as a kid, was pleasantly surprised to see it added to BGA recently.
I do find it odd that as you collect treasures, they get removed from the board. I suppose that makes a bit of sense (as if you picked up the item and put it in your collector's bag), and I see the benefit of it for game play. However, when playing in real-life, the icon doesn't magically disappear from the board/tile (the items are printed directly on the tile, not little pieces that you can place/pick up). Thus, you need to exercise your memory as to what items you've collected and those you've seen your opponents collect to estimate what items remain to be collected on the board (which matters more near the end of the game, which rows/columns you push to try and hamper an opponent).
So I would suggest a game OPTION wherein the icons remain present on their tiles even after a player "collects" them (it would be more akin to a scavenger hunt or sight-seeing trip; you need to go to the location and "take a picture', but the landmark remains there). But only if enough other players think this would be a good option. I get that this is a non-premium game, so perhaps not worth a lot of added effort for the developers.
