I also don't like the updated "art" (it shows the edge borders of the water - why?), I've not yet noticed the mechanical issues people are sharing in this thread but, here's a petty one that's really bothering me (I took the karma loss to leave a game last night because I was irritated by it) - it says it is selecting my player color based on my preferences, but my preferences are pink or purple and it is making me red. This is only since the new update. I hate it. Is anyone else having player color choice issues?

Not sure it should be here but to add a few:

- aqueduct doesn’t always work
- cards offered that can’t be used (just weren’t offered before)
- animation of trade doesn’t have the return animation so traded items go to the centre then there’s a lag then it updates weirdly to show your new items.

This wasn’t in response to the php issue?? I’m amazed, why was this done it just seems to have broken the game play with no noticeable improvement!

I'm sorry for the developing team but this new design is such a downgrade!! Is there no option to roll it back?

The new update (October 2026) is awful. Hate the delay between rolling and getting the pieces. I'm a fast player and have misplayed because I miscalculated which pieces I had because of the delay. The delay makes the game almost unplayable. The icons for cities, roads, and settlements should be on the right as before as well.

The whole point of this update was to add the Seafarers expansion. This is a noticeable improvement.

The code base was getting very old and adding new stuff or fixing bugs was complicated. A big rewrite of the backend was needed. This introduced some new bugs not detected during the Alpha test.

The frontend part is almost the same as before, but the addition of new graphics for seafarers had an impact on the memory footprint on older mobile devices. We work to improve it.
There is no change in design ! Some animations may now appear slower because they actually run to the end, while they ran in parallel on older version. This was the primary source of UI bugs in the older version.

The update was tested for months on the alpha channel, and nobody reported anything about slowness or downgraded experience. Every reported bug was adressed promptly.

Now please help me: If you encounter a change in visuals, please provide screenshots and point me to how it could be better.

lots of bugs since the update. I also don't understand why you can't offer the expansions as a completely separate game and with a separate ELO rank. I don't care so much about the rank but these are different games with different skills sets so you can get someone with a high ELO who doesn't know how to play. furthermore it just gets complicated finding the right game when you have to comb through all the options
