Imagine Gladiator, where the combatants could just say 'Naaa not fighting him' and walking out. lol. BGA even has Arena in its name.

100% of the reason I use block is to stop the bullying in the chat. This is especially bad in spades where bullying (vs red thumbs) seems to be a way to drive out strong players. So this strategy could just reinforce the idea that to win, you stop your opponents from playing by being unsufferable in the chat.

So with that being said my idea is to combat that peoples chats who break the rule of heckling oor whatnot have their chats in arena disabled. then that stops that problem altogether. The arena is meeant to fight against every person playing. you shuldn;t be able to block someone because you cant beat them, don't like them pr don't like the way they play. it defeats the purpose of the arena. When i win i want to know its because I was the best not because i pic kand choose who i play against. People are abusing the red thumb for those reasons and i have seen people win the arena 3 times that have done this. red thumbs will always apply to regular tables. If you don't like the way ssomeone plays then red thumb them annd play at a regular table so you dont have to play with them

This "solution" doesn't actually give you the result you want. It means that you are only playing players who are willing to put up with harassment and bullying -- and not necessarily the best players because some of them have left for "regular tables" to not continually be harassed. Muting people is highly problematic because it doesn't allow you to check in on server issues, etc -- especially in partner games where decisions to force someone to quit impact multiple people. (Also, I think it is creepy to be playing with a muted players. Like I don't want to be a partner with someone who has harassed people in the chat...)
