Option / setting to prioritize tournament tables when moving to next game to take action

Post by werdna720 »

Context: You are playing in tournaments that offer players a total of one week (7 days) each to take turns while simultaneously playing in arena mode turn-based games set for players to take 2-3 actions per day (giving a refreshing timer with max 24 or 36 hours). Because those arena mode games tend to have a lower amount of time remaining until your tournament timer reaches parity (with less than 24 or 36 hours remaining), your tournament games get deprioritized when using the "Next table" function to move from table to table. This can occasionally leave you with less than 24 hours remaining on a tournament table when your opponents have several days remaining.

I realize that with less than 24 hours remaining in this case, the tournament table will be prioritized more as you naturally play over the following week, but there are two issues with this:

(1) Cross-time zone tournaments will inevitably drain the timer more when players may be out of timezone alignment (even in tournaments with set play hours), leaving the player with less time at a significant disadvantage and much higher risk for running out of time.

(2) Tournament clocks generally don't refresh, so there is no way to get that time back.

Petition: Allow for a setting that prioritizes tournament games (or fixed length games with no timer refreshing) over arena / regular tables when using the "Next table" feature.
