Match making

Hey all,

I am not sure if this is a general issue or particular for this game. I chose options to join a game with up to 3 players, but actually I was joined to a game with 12(!) players. In addition, the host had a very bad reputation and of course the game was at some point cancelled due to time out of this player..

I wonder if really so many players are searching for games of 12 people..maybe the match making needs some adjustments.

Did anyone make similar experiences?

As there are several different ways of starting a new game and each of them has multiple options, you should be more specific about what you did. Don’t assume we know what you are talking about, because we don’t.

I, for one, have never had this happen in Flip 7 or any other game. How exactly did you “choose options to join a game with up to 3 players”?

I guess I was not precisely enough, so the option is not for “up to” 3 players - I pressed the “Play” button and went to the screen where you can choose the amount of players by a drop-down and other game preferences, like turns per day, set up variants and so on. I understand that there is not always a game available with the particular preferences chosen - I was just wondering that you could be joined to a game of 12 players.

Definitely odd. It sounds to me like you started from here: https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=flipseven and as there is no "flexible" switch on number of players, I would not expect that you would be placed at a table with anything other than 3 players. You might consider raising this in the "Discussions" forum as it does not seem specific to Flip 7.

Now, if you go here: https://boardgamearena.com/lobby and set the left menu to "Simple" and the right one to "Automatic", then each game has a gear next to it and you can specify "I lke 3-5 players but not 2 or 6+". I'd recommend that approach if you have some flexibility but do not want to throw caution to the wind.
