2 v 3 v 4

What are people's thoughts on 2-player vs 3-player vs 4-player games? I've only played a handful of games and all but one has been 2-player. Maybe playing online and not face-to-face made me not notice it, but I really didn't notice competition for resources with the 2-player games. But in the one 3-player game I only noticed it at the end when I had to make an extra long journey for that last statue.

I think the competition for resources for 2p vs 3p vs 4p is well balanced by there being additional resources on the board. Strong players in 2p will make you feel the competition for resources and send you sailing all around.
