Orb of Ragfield

Post by MartoTom »

It seems like an auto-win card in 1v1. Out of 10 games where the card is present, I think I have only seen the owner lose 1 or 2 times. It should not be in the game.

You seem to have had a good run with the Orb of Ragfield! If it's consistently dominating games geometry dash, it might be worth discussing with the community or game designers. Balancing issues like this can often be addressed through updates or rule adjustments to ensure a fair experience for everyone.

I completely agree with the OP and disagree with the blatantly AI-generated response.

According to google translate, here is what this response states: "I disagree. It’s a double-edged sword. I’ve seen players end up completely stuck because they had that card but no crystals left to pay the cost—much like with the Chalice of Eternity or the Crystal Orb, which can flood the board and leave no room to play the cards in your hand. You might call these beginner mistakes, and well, exactly: to play it and actually tap into its potential, you have to play well. So, it’s not "broken" or "overpowered"—that’s the whole point."

All I have to say is that such defense of the card makes no sense to me. Your argument is basically this: The card is good when you know how to play the game, but if you don't, it sux. Can you tell me how that is even remotely a good defense of a blatantly broken effect? If we introduce a new kind of ball to football, which somehow guides itself better, but requires a stronger kick from the player, will that be a fair thing to do to the game, simply because only some part of the football players will be able to take advantage of it?

I would also contest the idea that Orb Of Ragfield requires that much effort, as you seem to think. The card itself grants a good portion of crystals on its own, which then let you play the majority of cards for free. Even a SINGLE card played for free can give you enough crystals to keep generating more free plays. And let's not forget that you have the almost always available option to transmute energy, which you wouldn't need to play cards anyway, since Orb makes them free. Generating crystals is a major part of the game and even novice players can figure out how to do it as it is not that difficult.

All in all, I don't get how generating a few crystals can be a problem to players, and I think the card fundamentally breaks a major aspect of the game - energy management - in a not fun way.
