Hey everyone,
After playing a handful of 2-player Ticket to Ride: Europe matches, I’ve noticed a strong pattern: simply hoarding cards to snap up the largest routes on the board (the 6s and the 8-train link) while securing the European Express bonus feels almost unbeatably efficient compared to taking tickets.
Given that double routes are inactive in 2P, burning through 45 trains with high-value segments ends the game fast and denies a lot of flexibility, whereas grinding smaller tickets often feels slower and riskier due to uncompleted ticket penalties.
To me, planning routes and chaining destination tickets is the most satisfying and challenging part of TTR. For those with a lot of 2P games under their belt:
* Does the pure "track point rush" hold up at higher ELOs, or does late-game ticket digging consistently outscore it?
* How do you balance building a competitive spine against someone solely gunning to empty their train supply as fast as possible?
Curious to hear how the meta shakes out in your 2P matches!
