With the new tournament options, I thought I'd try and host a multi-stage tournament for Tokaido. Here is how it will work.
Game Settings:
Round Robin
Turn Based / 15 day maximum per game (7.5 days per player)
Elo: Off
Preparations: On
(everything else off)
The first round will begin on Feb. 3 as 3-5 round robins. In order to get an invite to participate please post in this thread indicating you'd like to play by Feb. 1. On Feb. 2 I will randomly distribute all players into pools and send invitations accordingly. (I've done it as invitation only to avoid eager players joining multiple pools).
If there are enough players for 4-5 pools, the top 2 players in each pool will advance to the finals. There will also be consolation brackets for players finishing 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th, and 9th/10th. Each player will receive an invitation to the appropriate 2nd round pool based on finish in the first round robin. It is up to each individual player whether or not they chose to participate in the 2nd round.
If there is only enough interest for 3 pools then 1st-3rd goto finals, then consolation brackets for 4th-6th and 7th-9th.
This 2nd round will begin Wed. Feb 24.
18-27 people: 3 brackets
28-36 people: 4 brackets
37-50 people: 5 brackets
