2 separate ratings 6 nimmt

Post by Sy Ryder »

There are quite a few players who either play "pro" or "normal" exclusively. This is especially true for experts and above, they don't join games that might hurt their rating because they're not used to it. The game strategy is quite different between the two versions. I think many players would jump into a game of the other version if it had a separate rating.

I'm totally agre with this ! There is normal version, tactic and profesionnal

A lot of players plays normal version, a lot plays tactic and a lot play profesionnal and tactic at the same time
The gameplay for these 3 versions is really difficult ! a good player at 1 version can be really bad at others !

Hi. As we discussed about that topic with Sy Rider & Mondran, I agree with that Idea to make two different ranking for 6 nimmt, maybe split the 6 nimmt into 2 games to make the ranking system easier to create would be also something possible ?
On one side, ppl could play at 6 nimmt Normal & get Elo from their games, but could also be willing to play pro mode & then get another ranking, if it suits better for them the other mode. And vice versa for ppl who prefer pro but still like tactic game as well.

Hello guys
I am quite agree. I prefer playing pro version because I think it's a better version more tactic than classic version.
It's more difficult to reach the master position and to keep it when you play only pro.
It's why, It would be interesting to have simultaneously three ranking : pro , tactic and general ranking.
Because, I find it would not be a great idea to completely separate the ranking. It's the same game, with two way to play.
It's interesting to compare the ranking even with players who play only why one way.

This is very true. I think we need 4 ratings: normal, professional, tactics, and professional/tactics.

In the same time, it shall be convenient to make. Good idea to make 4 ratings, however, won't it be a little complicated & confusing to have so many ratings. 3 sounds like the limit to me, over it seems too much in my opinion.
I agree with mondran's idea to make tactic/pro & both style ratings personnally.

2 ratings would be enough for me, pro and normal. Though people have preferences about if it's tactics or not, it doesn't stop people from playing. The way it is now many people won't play 1/2 the games.

To me tactics/normal is only a minor difference, while pro/normal is more significant. However, I don't think it is enough to justify multiple rating systems. There are tons of games on this site that play significantly differently based on the settings as well as number of players. In theory each combination could have a separate rating, but then you end up with a ridiculous number of ratings that will be very sparsely populated.

If you do it, Seasons should have like 4... because isn't same play Archimage or with all expansions...

Just one rank is enough, you can grow up it in normal, tactics, etc... you create a table as your preferences and try get the better position against your opponents.
ALSO, isn't same play with 4, with 5 or with 10 players... in some games strategies changes if you play with more players or few players.

These are all good points. However in these other examples if you play at a high level, you don't feel unfamiliar with the basic game play in other versions or with different numbers of players.
