there are different variations.
a 'tactics' game variation restricts the number of cards to (num players) * 10 + 4. so for a 5.player game, the highest card is 54. in a 10.player game, tactics and standard both top out at 104.
tactics means that if you are keeping close track, you will be able to know which cards are still available to be played. standard with less than 10 players means that there is an increased luck factor.
the other variation of 6 nimmt is 'professional' which allows you to place your new card on the right of a row as in standard ... OR on the left of a row, depending on which value your new card is closest in value to. professional can compensate for a hand full of low cards. for example .. if you get a hand of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and 10 ... you will eat a row with every card you play that round.
