Petition: UNDO BUTTON FOR SEASONS! or any other games

Tzolk'in needs an undo button badly. Anytime before you finish your turn it would be nice if you could undo.

In real life:

- Opponent: I choose... Factory
- Opponent again: No, sorry, I prefer to use Castle
- Me: No no, you said first "Factory"... I'm sorry for you!

That's not how you "translate" a misclick in real life. The online misclicks in real life would be something like:

- Me: i choose...factory (while pointing with my finger to Castle)
- Opponent: "you mean Castle? you've pointed the Castle"
- ME: "no sorry, i've brainfarted, i was meant to use factory!"
- Opponent: "go for it then"

(i don't even know what game you're referring to with "castle" and "factory", it's just an example).

That's why an undo button would really be fair and great. Online you should undo everything, when you've not gained new infromations of course.

Introduce undo and confirm/submit moves buttons! There's nothing wrong with letting a player see how moves affect the playing field before actually making them (excluding some things like randomized card draws or dice rolls)... heck, such a feature might actually speed up some games since they let players quickly visually check of the outcome of their moves as opposed to spending a long time mentally planning out the best way to make a sequence of twenty-some actions.

And of course, they offer a safeguard against those game-breaking misclicks. Stupid dumb Scepter of Greatness misclick... I WANTED TO PLAY IDOL OF THE FAMILIAR!!

Yes! Please do this for every game where it is possible, I fail to understand how someone could be against this idea. I am sick of cycling moves in Hive or just losing games due to misclicks. I am mystified that it was not a design requirement for every game from the jump; it just seems so obvious.

It is things like this that make me not want to pay for a membership. New games, new layouts, A/V chat, player color selection, tournaments, etc. have been added since I signed up a year ago - but I still can't undo a move, back up a replay, or play Takenoko or Hive according to the rules. Please fix these basic functionality issues, or at least give some indication that they are on your radar (as all bug reports I've made/upvoted seem to be ignored). I love this site and appreciate your work, but I will not give you my money when I am completely unconvinced that you will ever faithfully implement the rules to games or fix infuriating UI problems like this one, instead of just adding more and more stuff that doesn't quite work.

that 'validate' functionality is implemented in Battle Sheep, so if there were a way to port that bit of code over to Hive .. that would be sweet ! i too have lost Hive games on a last.turn misclick ...

Yeah to me this is the single biggest complaint I have vs BGA. I love the Keyflower implementation but if you play it on your phone you're pretty much guaranteed one misclick a game.

Yucata and boiteajeux both have this for almost every game. Perhaps it drives which games they put on their sites as well.

But every time you're playing a longer game and a misclick occurs it feels like you might as well just quit that one and start another.

the issue in this case is that you misunderstood the instructions. in seasons, you get to choose .. but the card you click on is the one your opponent receives ... and the card left over is the one you 'pick'.

No, I followed the instructions on the card to the letter, which states: "Draw as many cards as there are players. Place one in your hand and give the rest out to every other player" (Emphasis mine)

I will concede that I didn't spot the incorrect resolution order within the BGA implementation, but I didn't play this card incorrectly.

It seems we've been clamoring for undo for over two years with no results. I would pay to have this feature implemented, I'm sure many others feel the same way.
