Poor site management

Post by chumpchanger »

So every time the server has issues the players suffer penalties toward their scores and get negative marks? Wow! Why would anyone in their right mind pay for this?

I sent the following email today. You are right, why am I stupid enough to pay? Last timeI emailed them I never heard back.

Twice today I have had server issues (not from my end because my internet was working perfectly fine) which resulted in me 'losing' both games and receiving two penalties. Last time I contacted you about an issue like this youdid not respond. If you do not remove the two penalties and restore the ELO points I lost, I will discontnue my participation in the membership program.

Hi,

Thanks for your messages, for playing and supporting BGA.

I checked server response time and logs for today. This last 24 hours have been particularly stable with an average response time of 200 milliseconds on the main server and 73.3% of requests below this value.

Every time there is a server crash, an announcement is made and we remove penalties during the incident. In general we are "generous" with the time frame, removing penalties some hours before and after the incident to make sure no one has been forget.

Of course, when the issue is linked to your internet connection and/or your internet provider, you received a penalty if your opponent decide not to wait. So in the case of you have an internet issue AND if this issue last a long time AND if your opponent does not want to wait, yes, you receive a penalty.

But unless your connection is really bad, this shouldn't happened very often, and this is not a big deal to have a penalty from time to time.

Cheers,
intrepid
