Through the Ages, what happens when you leave and concede the game?

I am playing game for 4 players and one of them honourably leaves the game. When it is his turn the game discarded for him 3 cards from the card row. Why? One card I understand - it is card that is discarded anyway in that turn, but two others?

I haven't had that situation before in a game here, but I did look it up in the rules, and it states there:

When you are adding cards to the Card Row, remove cards from the first positions of the Card Row according to the number of players left in the game.

So if you when from 4 players to 3, then my understanding is the game should remove 2 each turn as if it were now a 3 player game....my guess is that instead the game was coded to treat an "out-of-time" player and "left honorably" the same and remove two extras on their turn instead with the assumption that they would have used actions to take a couple cards.

Concede option is only for 2 players games.

3 or more players games just take the quitter as "zombie", the quitter give a penalty and the game finish...

All players in game are considered winners and get a partial ELO (if the game is canceled at 60%, all gain 60% ELO). Of course, quitter loss with ALL players and loss lot of ELO and loss ELO for the penalty too.
