I want to suggest you 2 things about Machiavelli:
1) Order cards for numbers/suits, just like Haggis. I don't know if you can make it, but it would be very helpful.
2) Allow the straight A-K-Q-...: in the standard rules of Machiavelli A and K can form a straight, I've heard lots of players who used to play Machiavelli for years and just don't know why it's not allowed.
Some games are decided by this feature, because those who draw A or K are a little penalized.
