Puerto Rico new look

First, huge thanks to the people who runs the site and keeps developing it continuosuly. Great work, great site and good games.

However, newly implemented changes to Puerto Rico UI are not that good. It's hard to recognize different plantations from one another, also the building cards looks a bit messy. I hope this is observation is noted and actions are going to be taken to sort this out. Easy to use and clear UI are key to enjoy the board games online.

I agree, the new UI for Pureto Rico is very bad. Can we revert it back? Esp for the plantations, have to double check every single move...

I'm of two minds. I definitely agree that the plantations are harder to see, but I really like the fact that the building names are now legible (particularly when attempting to play from a smartphone).

I agree. Puerto Rico new interface is not easy to use. All cards seem to have the same color.

Thanks for your feedback (and compliments about the old design: I didn't realize it was so good )
I made before/after screenshots to compare both styles and didn't think that there was a such a huge readability difference. But of course there are habits to take into account.

So I have added an in-game preference for getting back to the old style for (non-expansion) buildings/plantations.



For the new style, I'll also rework the plantation graphics to include more border color into them so it's easier to sort them out.

About the new style: since we implemented the expansions, we took the opportunity to use the beautiful artwork of the most up to date edition of the game. Most notably, images have now a better resolution and you can zoom without pieces getting all blurry. This should be an improvement, and if you take the opportunity to zoom and take a close look at the new graphics, you'll see that they are actually really nice

Other than images, the design hasn't changed much; but if you find out some other readability/UI problem, please describe them in detail (with screenshot please) and we'll see what we can do to improve the design.

I had a look, but didn't use it yet. It doesn't seem as bad as one can think after reading the complaints. To be honest: I had already some trouble with the old UI regarding the general size and choosing buildings without using the tooltips.

Besides the better resolution there are other improvements, e.g. the player names which can now be read without difficulties. In the old one it was almost impossible especially when using green or blue colours.

The upgrade of Puerto Rico is terrible and a major setback:

- too hard to see the difference between buildings and farms

- not easy to get an overal picture

- have to hover over every tile to see what it is

Can you please return the old version of Puerto Rico or enable it as a choice-option in the game startmenu?
