A new visual identity for Board Game Arena

I love BGA and really appreciate all the time and effort put into it - it is a wonderful service for all of us who love to play games, so thanks to all of you! I too, however, prefer the old logo, with the same reasons given by others - doesn't really tie into gaming (it just does look like a cloud!), and the colors are bland and indistinct. Maybe something more vibrant would be a better match for a site devoted to people playing games! That being said, the logo doesn't matter to me that much. However, the very pale gray-blue for the bar makes things harder to see, and the full-screen icon is invisible (I have to click on empty pale gray-blue space to go to full screen, which works as long as you never move it!) One thing I don't think has been brought up yet is that I really hope you keep the wood tabletop look for the background - I love that!

I'm really excited by this news!

I'm cool with the new logo, and while it doesn't gel with the faux woodgrain background, I know this is just a transitionary phase. People who demand that the logo not change (aah garish!) or that it must look exactly like a board game need to know something. A logo doesn't have to be a literal representation of the subject. More than anything it just needs to be sufficiently unique and easy to identify.

Please allow users top provide feedback before locking in changes. Less so for what people's favourite colours are, but more for functionality and ease of use. But that should be likely in Ian's hands!

That logo looks like a failed science experiment especially when its animated. Get rid of it, its scares my kids Board Game Laboratory.

Appreciate the need for change and the logo is peaceful looking, but is it the cause of the site running/loading so slowly as of late? If so I'd say change it back. Speed & Function over fashionable looks to me

I think the old logo was better, the loading animation was perfect....this one just doesn't represent anything to me

Since the change it has taken much longer for the page to load, like 15-20 seconds. I think there might be a flaw in whatever you guys did. It has been pretty frustrating to have every page take forever to load now. I am paying $25 a year for this. Could we please work more on keeping the loads fast? I really don't care about marketing, I care about game play and game quality. You guys do that in spades. Let's keep the focus on being the best game site in the world, and it won't matter what your logo is.

I like the new look. One visual bug caused by the new theme, though: the 'I would like to think a little' link at the top is now almost invisible due to using white-on-white text. With the new light-colored top bar, the link needs to use dark text now. (Reported as http://en.boardgamearena.com/#!bug?id=5236 .)

I am getting pretty frustrated. The site loads slow as molasses and it started with the new bar across the top and loading that logo-animation. PLEASE fix the load times. Something you guys did is making the site SLOW.

For the love of god, I don't care about logos, or re branding, or Mr. Douche Hipster and his list of suspiciously common games. What I want are my load times back. I want fast crisp play. This site is taking FOREVER to load since you put the new tumor logo on it. I don't know if he didn't know how to reduce the size when he scaled it or what, but it is taking me 20 seconds to load this site....and ONLY this site. It started when the animate tumor showed up. PLEASE fix it. You have been asked nicely enough. If this is the future of BGA (all marketing for hipsters and screw load times and performance) I will not be resubscribing when my membership comes up next year.
