Playing against the computer

Hello
I'm new to this and i want to learn by playing but not with real people. I can't learn via text or video. So I played my first game against A.I. but now i can't anymore. Is it not possible to play a tutorial game against a computer robot? I'd be very disappointed in that case :/

The "fun" of a boardgame is play against an opponent -or against the game-, not an AI.

The AI is just for learn the interface, etc...

Exactly. I don't know the rules and don't want to be an idiot when playing with people. I can't learn by reading the rules, it's too confusing and the videos are too long to watch them all.
My question is if there is a button or a setting that allows me to play on my own with a robot, with a tutorial so i can learn how to play before I go and challenge real people. I already exited a game yesterday because it was too frustrating, I had no idea what I was doing... So I got a penalty for that. I don't want that to happen again.

I learnt all games, I read all the rules and checked and sometimes I replay games.

Believe in me, all games don't take more than 10 games to learn, it's just about "initiative" for learn... always your first game will not be good -except if you know the game before-
Also you can play without ELO your first games, it's a good option!

Most games on this site can only be played against other people. Generally the games are coded by volunteers, and it's not reasonable to expect them to have sophisticated AI or tutorials to play against.

I do think the easiest way to get the gist of a new game is to watch a video. They generally do not take too long - and are certainly a lot quicker than reading and trying to understand the rules from scratch.

There are many different games of varying levels of complexity. BGA helpfully provides different game lists from core to casual. If you are struggling with a particular game, then it may be you are trying to play one from the more complex categories?

Also I think it is easier to learn a new complex game by playing turn-based, because when it is your move you have time to check up on particular bits of the rules, and can learn the game a piece at a time. Trying to play a new complex game live with a short time limit, is going to be nearly impossible!

And bear in mind, that some of these games are very complex - that's part of what makes them so entertaining!
