You can't castle if King or rook you chose was moved before.

Understood. It was about 4 moves into the game that I could 'legally' castle: Black, RH8 with no pieces between to King E8. I moved Rook next to my king and nothing...tried moving ontop of the King...nothing.

Hi,
When possible, castling is offered through buttons in the action bar.

It is also worth noting that even in a physical game you should always touch and move the King first, not the Rook.
