King making at its best!

Post by Zetes »

Hi all, hi BGA,

I lastly reported a clear king making from a nr.1 player, SJCSJC, which claims nr.1 at Takenoko by a large advantage on the second player in the ranking, thx to a series of games against the same opponent, look at this game Takenoko, table 23079530…..watch the game being the opponent player (John), and see how the last 3-4 rounds he doesn't close the game when he could…but most clear is the final round when SJCSJC closes the game and John doesn't play his objectives while he could do so and win the game…..ANSWER OF BGA AFTER REPORT OF KINGMAKING……as I haven't played SJCSJC why is that my concern ?! They see only a well played game….NOT MY CONCERN? All expert players wants a shot at becoming nr.1 at their favorite game, and SJCSJC here has 200 points elo advantage with his king making series….that means it's almost impossible to become nr.1…..and they see a well played game???? BGA, if you stand on what you wrote you can cancel me from your site , this is really outrageous!!

This is an interesting case. The weird thing is that JohnS-41796977 has over 2000 games played overall and only the 31 takenoko games against sjcsjc. That would be a lot of work if sjcsjc controlled both those accounts.

But yes, in game 23079530, that does look very suspicious. From about move 200, JohnS could have completed all five objectives and ended the game with a strong finish but doesn't. But the most suspicious part is that JohnS left one objective that he could have completed on the final turn to win the game but instead ended his turn so that sjcsjc would win on the tiebreaker.

I know BGA is careful not to jump to conclusions but this definitely looks like ranking manipulation to me, as well.

Last 30 games was with JohnS-41796977 and won ALL games.

Srly, being the best luck player, you NEVER will get a 30 victories in-a-row.

============

Another case to analyse:

jof422 has a 373/377 handicap vs kanou... and BGA said "not guilty" to multiple account, rly?

Hi, Thx for chiming in on this argument…..what is really sick is that BGA looks at the game I mentioned in the OP and says "we only see a well played game" …..case closed….I can't even reply on the report page because I don't have seraphin status!!!! So, what is going on on this site? Conspiracy? That would be ridiculous and discouraging, anyway, how can we have a clear debate with BGA where they try to explain why player John doesn't finish off SJCSJC in the game mentioned in the OP?

To all, use this post to report all the clear king makers….maybe BGA will be forced to step up when this page will be full of names of cheaters…for sure BGA loses a lot of credibility acting like they are hiding X files from the president!

Hey BGA, add a button on the players page such as " pay $ to become nr.1"….maybe that is clearer than the tricky maneuvers you use now

Please don't be insulting. Taking the time to look at a situation (and eventually to take the time for multiple moderators to have multiple looks on a situation) is not being passive. Cheating on BGA is meaningless : as soon as the cheaters are punished, all their accounts are closed with ELO reset to 1500, all all the hours "spent" are ruined.

Insulting?! I used the same irony your moderator used…and besides…the case was closed by him…so who is saying you still investigate on that case….what your moderator wrote to me, as you would say, is an insult!

Hello all,

In order to improve my gameplay (I'm currently ranked #2 at Takenoko, and love this game btw), I analyzed sjcsjc's last 10 games (all against JohnS-41796977), and I shall agree these all were biased games (even the averaged scores are abnormally high). Obviously JohnS-41796977 performed king-making by intentionally letting sjcsjc's win several times. I suspect sjcsjc's also knew the ropes...
Naturally I sent a report (n°7679) which gave sjcsjc's the benefit of doubt.

@sourisdudesert: I can imagine this is a harassing job to keep track of "cheaters" while you'd rather focus on improving free online gaming experience. It is just that king making can rapidly become a scourge when the front-page hall of fame is affected...

PS: any clues if the "Chibis" extension is under development ?

Users has been banned, ELO reseted to 1500 as explained.

Note that the report category was wrong (kingmaking). The moderator did a good job: this user was reported for kingmaking in a 2 player game, which is impossible, so the moderator closed the report. You should have used the "this played is using multiple accounts" category, with a reference to the other account. In that case the moderator would have found it and immediately banned it. End of the story.

Oh good to know, I rarely use the report section, since I already enjoy myself on BGA without the need of this tool! Thanks ;)
