Giving gift point to a player

In the description of the gift points it says that a player can give gift points to another player for playing with him/her their first game. How do i do that?

If I recall correctly, this is automatically done by the system. If player A plays with (first-time player) player B, and B gives a thumb's-up, A gets gift points.

I'm not sure if this was addressed in the Karma change.
