You're right, now BGA will only focus on games players really plays : Monopoly, Uno, ...
This is not my point! look at rating of these games on BGG. Awful.
Why not develop games from 200 best games from BGG rankings
I'm looking at the rankings. Eruption is a 6.4, which is great, and Dragon Line doesn't have enough ratings yet to have a score, so What are you even talking about?

I like the additions. I might be biased, but I think these games are a fine addition to BGA, and I will play them frequently.

No need for hating. These games are not here INSTEAD of other games you like better. That's not how it works.

I was just trying to say: More games is always better than not more games. More options is super, and doesn't hurt you if you don't want to play these games. Having them here does not take away from the other games that you do like, or stop other games from being developed.

That's all. But, I shouldn't have engaged in this thread at all, sorry.

That's the point. You are on a free site in which you can choose among lots of games to play, I don't see where is the problem if sometimes they add a game that you don't like.

I also don't get how you can decide when a game is beautiful or not WITHOUT trying it. "BGG rating said 6.4, it's awful!" "BGG rating said 8.0, I love it!"
Tsk... There are games that you like and games that you don't like, not "games that some BGG users like and games that some BGG users don't like". You seem to come from a Black Mirror episode.

This is ridiculous, why do you think ratings even exist?! Of course you should not love all top games, but this is represent bad and good games in general. All good games I know exist in first couple hundreds of rating. So what are you saying it is pretty demagogic

A pertinent quote from last year's BGA Q&A:

So if you are asking yourself: why game XXX is not on BGA, it could be for various reasons:
_ Maybe we never asked the authorization for this game. Note that usually we ask authorizations for every popular games (ex: "Most wanted games"). So if the game is popular, the reason is probably not this one.
_ The publisher refused.
_ The publisher accepted, but we didn't find a developer until now for this game.
_ The game adaptation is ready, but we are waiting for a specific event to release it.

Find more information and the full context of the quote here:

Awesome news! I've heard about eruption and am glad it's here. Thanks for all of the work you guys put into this. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to try out so many games at little or no cost. I for one am very much looking forward to having a go at both of these. See you at the tables!

@Moony Raven:

For you there are several more games from the top 100 BGG here on BGA:

BGG-Rank Name of Game
12 Through the Ages
24 Tzolk'in
26 Keyflower
29 Caylus
61 Troyes
93 Go

you already played:
7 Puerto Rico
40 Race for the Galaxy
62 Stone Age
97 Jaipur

For all others there are interesting games from outside of the top 100. Popular here are e.g. Lost Cities (276), Tokaido (394), 6 nimmt (510), Can't stop (540), Saboteur (743), Backgammon (991), Dragon heart (1107) and others... all of them played more than 100000 times here on BGA.

So BGG ranking is not the most interesting on overall popularity, perhaps it is more a ranking from board game geeks. But here are many players, which play only on occasion.

Have fun with these games :D
