Eruption: Lava source and rain tiles are all that really matter. Serious fault in the game.

Eruption: Nothing really matters in this game besides the lava source and rain tiles. No matter how far you are ahead, when someone places a lava source and you gain 30 degrees and they gain two cards, it's too much of a penalty. Plus, if someone has all (or most) of the rain cards at the end, that's all that matters. They will win every time. I think these are some serious faults to this game.

You can always write to the designer of the game. If we get an official ruling or variant to change the balance I'm happy to implement it.

the trick is NOT to get too far ahead that you become the default target.

i have flowed lava into my own village at various times for various reasons ... to get cards ... to block an eruption from my 2 danger fronts ... to make sure that *i* get the next eruption tile

i have avalanched or sinkholed flows into enemy villages ... to make sure that *i* get the next eruption tile.

as for the rain cards .. yes, they are powerful .. but if you know your opponent has them based on the number of cards they keep in hand near the end of the game ... the rest of the table should know who to target. if the other players at the table continue to beat on each other instead of the person with the rain cards .. that's their own fault.

I agree with you, the Rain cards should be removed, it just bring luck for the winning and nothing else.
