BGA crash November 30th (00:00 CET)

Post by sourisdudesert »

Hi everyone,

Around midnight (CET), one of our server has been temporarily unreachable. A technician from our hosting service thought there was a defect on the server and removed it from the Board Game Arena infrastructure, which caused an immediate service interruption.

Unfortunately, no one from BGA was available at this time, so despite the fact there was no real issue on the server, the service remained unavailable during 8 hours.

Sorry about this interruption. All penalties received because of this has been removed. Please contact us if this is not the case.

UPDATE : we added a "holiday time bonus" to all BGA players so you can use it if you are short in time and wasn't able to play during the interruption.

We just gave a +1 "holiday time bonus" to anyone, so you can use it to gain thinking time in your turn based games in progress.

I am still having problems just like last night. Can't play any game and getting constant "Unexpected error: Error with notification service (TIMEOUT), please retry" just like yesterday. All my games are tournament so giving me a holiday time won't work!!

So now what?

On dirait que ça recommence...

It's doing it again ! Message : "Déconnecté du serveur de jeu ! (timeout)" ...

(merci à l'équipe de BGA pour toutes les nouveautés récentes !)

Yeah, it was good an hour ago, I started a The Boss game, and then the same problem started again, could play nothing, couldn't propose a collective give up... nothing that I can do. :?

Yes, same problem happened again :(

I was available to restore the service this time ... I'm working now with our hosting service to see what's wrong :/

I got an email stating that I quit a game in progress and was receiving a Karma point penalty because of it. I believe that I was one of the ones affected by the server interruption error, as I kept trying to make moves and kept getting a timeout error. I tried different browsers and it didn't work either.

Will we be getting the penalty removed once the situation is resolved?

Thanks for your hard work!
