Opponent timed out(when he shouldn't have)

Post by fat4lity »

Hi all,
In my first game of a new Takenoko tournament, my opponent got timed out within the first day itself.
The game ( https://en.boardgamearena.com/#!table?table=25703405 ) was tabled yesterday. And this morning, I got the notification that he had timed out.
It seems to have a 3 day timer. Is there something I am missing about the timer and how it works?
Or is this just a bug?

BGA has several time bugs. Some of them were fixed about month ago, but it looks like that not all. Also servers instability could affect your tournament.
You can create a bug report
http://boardgamearena.com/#!bugs
also you can describe your situation in next topic

What demiursage says is wrong. Your opponent left the game by himself, there is no time-related things here. Your opponent received a Karma penalty for this, and lost the tournament match.

I didn't claim that this case was linked with time issues. I claimed that time issues exist on your site even after your fix.
When your turn include many actions sometimes in the middle of your actions the timer drops down. Usually it restores the proper value after the end of your turn. Also other players wrote that they saw strange things with timer.

Ohk. How does one know that the opponent left instead of him being timed out(as the game stated).
Feeling a bit less aggrieved for him now.

On the table page you can see :

Game result cancelled (Someone left this game before the end) :
The player who left (or was skipped) lost the game and got a ☯ penalty.
The other players won this game and get 1% of normal ELO points (because 1% of this game has been played before the incident).

... so if you didn't skip him, he left :)
