I think the elo system at "la belotte" (and other team games i guess) doesn't represent the level of the player.
It's not a huge concern because most players play just for fun and I am myself a very average player.
Here is an example where it goes wrong.
Consider a match 1700 - 1300 vs 1500 - 1500.
Assuming that they are evenly match, after a lot of games
the ranking of the 1700 and 1300 players will converge to 1500.
The bad effect is that in order to boost your elo, you should only accept to play with a higher ranked team mate.
The simple solution is that the team should be considered as a single player with rank the average of the two teammates and
points at the end should be the same amount for each teammate.
