Clean up of Database

Post by Cowseye »

Hi all,

I would like to check if it's necessary for me to clean up my database? If so how do I go about doing it? I can't seem to find a guide on that.

Thank you.

Hi,
Not sure I get what you mean, do you mean after a game, before a new game? No, it's not necessary, new tables are created based on your dbmodel.sql file. You just have to fill them up during game setup in your game.php file.

Hi,

I have started and stopped many games on BGA Studio as part of debugging. There were many databases created as one database is for one game. I forsee there will be a lot of games created for debugging purpose, do we need to clean up those closed / ended test games?

Hi,
You don't need to bother about cleaning up tables for old games on the studio.
There should be a cron job running to clean finished games, and even if it isn't actually running (which is possible on the studio), those tables are pretty small anyway so there is space for quite a lot.
