As far as I know:
- finishing a game (ranked or not) without timing out gives +1
- your reputation is limited to 60 (resp. 30) if you have more than 10% (resp. 20%) red thumbs. In that case, I assume that you should try to get more green thumbs... But you cannot know when you get some, so it might not be easy to see if you have a chance to regain reputation soon. In addition, if your reputation is limited to 30, you cannot use the chat (i.e. not say hello or gg), so it might be more difficult to get green thumbs.

I play checkers only, I keep the rules but I had network problem twice , which stopped my game - only two of 258 !! and my reputation is 60% . Now very few players want to play with me. It's pretty strange.

Direct situations like this to an admin so they can decide if and how to deal with it. There's already threads that exist for commentary on the reputation system.
