Can someone please explain to me what the Runic Cube of Eolis does? It costs 20 points but doesn't seem to do anything. I read online somewhere that you pay 20 points and it in turn gives you 30 points, but that definitely didn't happen when I played it. It just cost me 20 points and nothing seemed to happen. What am I missing?

The point-value of the Runic Cube card is 30 points. You get them at the end of the game.

The delay makes it vulnerable. I don't remember which card it is, but I seem to recall a card that forces opponents to return a card to their hand. Devastating to lose 20 points....

Yes, there is a card that does that, although if you have at least several cards in play at the time, it shouldn't be tons of trouble finding an appropriate one to take back. If you play that card early then more likely you get stuck having to take it back. Since it affects nothing else, that would be one I'd play late in the game. I haven't played this much yet, but I've managed to learn just a very few things like that.
