developer account creation

Sorry for disturbing, and sorry if the question is already asked somewhere.

I'd like to know why the postal adress is needed to create a developer account, and also,
is this ok to create an account and to help only when I have time for it (that is, without constraint)?

(I'm currently in a development school, and I am a big gamer but I can't be sure that I will have the time to work on projects out of school.)

Hi,

Postal address is in case we need to send something to the developer (such as a box from the publisher for less known games). Also, asking to fill out more things in the form somehow allows to filter out some unserious registrations

Studio contributions are volunteer development, so there is obviously no constraint. Actually some projects don't make it very far, but others do
