frequent lockups

Post by xxilo »

Hello
I'm a new player in BGA. I play a lot of games of sobek which is my favourite game. Up until yesterday everything was fine but for the past two days the game has been systematically blocked.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you

There were a couple of days in a row when sourisdudesert put messages up about problems they were having. The problems were solved so I didn't even read them. But perhaps that was something that caused this issue? Is it still locked up?

In that case, if you don't get a response here, you might want to report it in the bugs:

They do read posts, but if it looks like a bug that's only affecting one (or a very few) people, they put it into the "to do when I'm working on bugs" section. When they do work on bugs, they go through the bug reports.

Also, you don't provide enough information, not even a table number. Bug reports are more structured and guide players into reporting problems in an useful way. Also, the developer for the game is notified by email (this is good, since the problem may be in the game code and not the site).

So it's always better to use the bug report tool first, then if it doesn't get attention you can try the forums (with a link to the report) to see if other players have the same problem and can vote for your bug so that it gets priority (you should consider that admin time is scarce, because, well, it is :) ).

Well, you're not doing anything to try to fix the problem. It was suggested you file a bug report - I've looked under both Sobek and the main web site reports, and nothing.

You have not provided any detailed explanation of exactly what is happening. You used both the words "lockup" and "blocked," but to me blocked means you can't get in, and lockup means you're there but you can't do anything. This needs an explanation.

You haven't provided any information about your device, browser, etc.

Based on that, I'm not sure how you think anyone can help you. They are not mind readers, nor can they magically solve it by osmosis.

Since I see no other bug reports on this issue, it would not surprise me if there's a problem on your end. Have you tried another browser, another device/computer, cleared your cache, cookies, etc? Since this seems to have started suddenly, think about anything you might have done to change something. Did you change any settings, update anything, download something? (Often these things come with other "features" that automatically install and run, or even viruses, so you have to watch out for things like that.)

I can only repeat that people are not mind readers and you can't expect someone to help with "everything is locked up" without any kind of information. Report the bug, and provide as much information as possible. This isn't texting - you're allowed to write more than one short line. Otherwise there is no choice but to just ignore this.
