Since the original game rules explicitely mention that players can choose to play without specific cards, there should be an option to ban specific cards from a game (regardless of "level", whether Magician, Archi etc.). I think 2 or 3 bans at the very maximum could be reasonable.
I, for one, think that Temporal boots are way too powerful, especially since they can be combined with Amsug. The Codex cannot, for instance, and that should be reason enough to prove that point. Not only you get the opportunity to force a card back into your opponent's hand (so -5 pts, not to mention the points value of the card), but on top of this, you determine the end of the game with the temporal effect! So that can mean easy 20 pts bonus with Regifield Healm / Chest of Urm, etc.
The impact of this combo is even more unfair and unexpected when the Boots AND Amsug were picked along the game, and not in the original draft.
ANYWAY. We all have our own nemesis card in this game, and we should all be allowed to launch a game without it.
