Babel Game Arena

Post by sourisdudesert »

As you know, our dream is to propose this website in every language in order everyone in the world can discover new games and share their passion for board games.

Starting today, you can propose new links, rules and videos for each game in different languages.

In addition, nine new languages are open to translation: Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Danish, Japanese, Finnish and Swedish.

As usual, we offer BGA club membership to players that will contribute to translate the website (1 month / 100 translated strings validated).

New: players who did more than 100 validated translations are now able to modify translations even after they have been validated. Thus, small remaining mistakes can be fixed.

Note on new languages choice: the nine new languages correspond to the nine largest players community according to our geographical statistics. More languages will follow soon, except for "right to left" languages (ie: Hebrew, Arabic,...) that we can't handle at now.

I'm interested in Eng > Polish translation,
what is the requirement?
There's something about Ange at http://fr.boardgamearena.com/#doc/grade - all three conditions must be met?

It's wonderful that you'll be supporting more languages!

I'm not really familiar with the character encodings, so I don't know if this is an issue, but I wanted to point out that for Chinese, there are two different scripts:

Traditional Chinese 繁體中文
Simplified Chinese 简体中文

Traditional is mainly used in Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan, whereas simplified is used in Mainland China. You might want to clarify which one is to be used, or like many websites, offer support for both scripts. I'm not really sure how other websites handle this.
