Moving to next table now intermediate window appears

Hi, is it as expected that now, moving to next turn based table I have to watch 1..4 seconds that interwindow a la game green bar loading? Previously I just switched without any delay.

Hi,

In fact previously there was also a delay. If you remember the interface was "freezed" during some seconds, while the game was loading. It was not great and make you feel that BGA was buggy or non responding. Now we are using a proper loading screen, that gives you an accurate information about when your game will be available and that gives you a clean and responding interface at the end.

I am playing on my Android phone and the loading screen is freezing and will not proceed to the game. This is while loading Expedition: Northwest Passage. The loading screen works fine for me with 6 nimmt though.

Previously I just switched without any delay.

I just found a bug that may have caused a slowdown on some games and fixed it. The loading time should be the same than before from now.

Why wasn't this put in the news on the front page?

While this explanation makes sense (that the total loading time is actually the same and that when the screen is displayed it will be fully responsive), today I felt that BGA was doing more "bells and whistles" work that just wasted more computing power before I got to my next game.

Please, when making a change, alert us of it first. It's hard to come to the forums expecting to rant about the evils of a change only to find out there was some good thought behind it.

I agree with you. However, the #1 priority in our communication are new games, and we cannot remove the current game from the news.

The reason of most of our "bells and whistles" are self-explainable, and also quite common (almost all games on the web with heavy images have a loading screen). So we may do not find the need to communicate on this.

Since the addition of the 'loading screen' 1 replay and 1 game table have gotten stuck on the aforementioned screen.
Restarting the browser made it load properly again, I haven't encountered any such issues before.

While it works quick enough actually I start even liking it. Feels something like flipping a page in a book.

As to communications, we are simple mortals here and a simple Forum post about "small technical
amendments" would also be appreciated. We could live without it being PRed with fanfaras and ballons in the News page

Before the change in an early phase of page loading it was already possible to see the game situation on many games completely. The only thing not yet possible was to select the next move as some secondary informations needed to load (like log etc.).

This allowed to think about the next move early during loading of the game page. Now I have to wait till I can think about the next move.

This is the reason why for me the new page is more annoying than the old situation.

Just to think about.

What about an option to switch off the intermediate windows?

This way new users have the clean interface, users already used to the page can think of their next move early.

Alternatively is there any potential to increase page loading time (like caching images or similar) by browser or web page optimisations?
