Difference in Field Scoring for Carcassone

Post by dralkyr »

Is there a difference in the 2 modes? In both, the fields are worth 3 points; in both, those points go to whoever has more farmers in the field.

The difference is, as far as I know, the "point of view": In the first you check all fields once, in the second each city once. In the first variant one city can gain points several times.

I guess I'm just confused. I just played art1722 in Carcassone and for whatever reason, he won - though I had 7 farmers in the field and he had only 5, the 33 points were awarded to him. I don't get it.

You had 4 farmers on the 33pt-field and 3 farmers on the 21pt-field. Since he had 5 farmers on the 33pt-field you get scored only the 21pt-field.

Same thing : I don't understand, why when I choose the mode "all cities 3 points", I always wins 0 when my number of farmer is lower than somebody else... I thought we could all win points in this case!...
