Terra Mystica: would be real nice if...

Hi, we currently share the same ELO for each number of players (if someone plays mainly 2 players games he will have the same ELO ranking as a player who only plays 4 players game).
I would really think it would be for the best if EACH number of games would share a different ELO.
For exemple I could have a ELO of 104 in 2 players games and a ELO of 245 in 4 players games.
Currently in the ranking the first player is a player who only plays 2 players games...
and I feel that it's unfair for the players like Zorass who only plays 4 players games.
The skillset you need in 1vs1 ain't the same skillset you need for 4 players games.
That is why I really thinks that setting a ELO for each number of games would be very sweet!
I'm I the only one who thinks about this?

I think the Arena mode may fix that. It is supposed to be a fixed game mode I think (so 4 players for games like Terra Mystica probably?).

I would argue that players who should be strong should be strong in any player count. Even though it is measuring different things, both players are skilled at the game of Terra Mystica.

Elo isn't going to matter soon so it's kind of a non-issue...but my thoughts are to follow anyway.

While a good player should be able to do well in both setups, the reality is the 2 player setup will always lend itself to the higher Elo ratings because 4 player games you are at the mercy of the other 3 players. If 3 people gang up on you there isn't really much you can do about it...even if you are the best player in the world. I've had games where people say in chat before a game has even started, this guy is rated really high we need to gang up on him. For that reason players who play 3+ players in most any game will have a lower Elo than the best players who only play 2 player.

TM is pretty boring at 2p, so hopefully the intended 4p version is used for competitive play

Exactly... getting high playing 2 player only is way easier in my opinion.

Exactly... getting high playing 2 player only is way easier in my opinion.

Because rankings based on elo are going away with the new arena mode. Rankings will be based on how you perform in arena mode games which will have a fixed setup and number of players.
