Feedback to BGA, etc.

Post by Rok »

I'm fairly new to BGA, so I don't know if these topics have been discussed yet or not, or whether they are even appropriate.

I enjoy the site and would like to pay for the services I receive, but I don't believe in the "subscription model". Is there a way to "go Premium" without committing to an annual or monthly re-up?

For me, the easiest way to NOT have me participate is to force me into a "subscription model" annual re-up that I will probably forget. I'm happy to buy a year's subscription and pay the full amount now--one transaction, with you NOT keeping my credit card number and no commitment for future purchases. It seems like we get a message ever couple of months now that some major company has had their data base hacked and we have to take measures with our valuable time to make sure our information isn't being used nefariously. (Valuable time that we could otherwise be using to play games, don't you know :) ). When huge organizations like Citicorp, the U.S. government, and Bank of America, can't keep my information safe, I have a sneaking suspicion that a gaming site won't either.

Anyway, do you have suggestions on how I can purchase something from you and NOT have my credit card number be saved in your database?

Thanks in advance for any response.

asd: I expected that, but when you sign up for it, you commit to allow them to re-charge you after 12 months, too--and that's the part I don't like. That means that they will keep your credit card on file--which is something that I would rather not happen. I'd probably re-up every year anyway, but I don't like the subscription auto-renewal stuff.

I was hoping that there would be a way to avoid that. So, until someone replies with a way to do it without committing to auto re-ups, I'll be playing without paying them.

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

At first, BGA is NOT keeping your payment information. Even during the payment we do not see your payment informations. We rely on a well-used payment service (Stripe.com) who have everything you can expect in term of security for payments.

Then, if you want to pay once for a year membership, you can achieve that in 2 different ways:
_ you can choose "Paypal" as a payment method. We don't support Paypal subscriptions, so using Paypal you pay once for a given period (ex: 1 year).
_ you can subscribe to the yearly subscription, and immediately cancel it. This way, you'll just be Premium for one year.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply sourisdudesert, that does help.

I've done the same in some other websites, but didn't know if it was possible here.
