Just want o know Is there a way to check the arena mode setting of a game?

Some initial thoughts:

There really needs to be some pages to display the division tables and ranking. It seems a bit fruitless at the moment, what exactly are we fighting for?
I just received 4 bronze medals for winning a game but it feels very meh.. atm.

I would really like to know WHO I am competing with. So this is in the game tables being created behind the scenes and in general overall who is participating. Something like the tournaments page with a list of people, results, division tables. atm it feels like a very solitary pursuit.

The 'searching for opponents' does not make me feel comfortable. If I join a table or a competition then I see who's playing, what their reputation is and ranking is like, if there a fast player, a player I would like to avoid or a friend I'd like to play with, etc.
Simply put, I do not like the 'simple lobby' mode. There are tables being created behind the scenes, why can't we manually join them if we have right conditions?

For the tiny icons, the progress bar, and the settings cog are very fiddly. Can the games we've subscribed to go into a different panel, a bit like a game panel - searching for opponents.

You can find them at 2 different places:
_ game X page => rankings.
_ during an Arena game => bottom of the page => rankings.

I would really like to know WHO I am competing with.

Choosing his opponents is incompatible with a fair ladder system. If you can select your opponent, then you can avoid the one you want to avoid to maximize your rank. This was one of the biggest problem of the previous ELO based system.

For the tiny icons, the progress bar, and the settings cog are very fiddly.

I would suggest you to use larger icons for Arena mode, so you can see your current rank directly.

For now, we feel that 4 stones Kalah is the best as half of the games played on BGA are played with this variant (only 35% for 6 stones). It may change in the future.

I started new game and it was again with previous player, and both of games I have first move. Would be fair if other player starts second game.


In 4 stones Kalah there are big advantage for that who plays first. Taking opponents 1st move, second player has advantage. If it's not the beginner, then wins that, who nows best opening move, then rest of match is pretty easy.

In 5 stones Kalah advantage for 1st player is smaller.

Maybe 4 stones Kalah is more popular, because beginners usually chose that one. And because easier to win, most of the best players don't play with 4 stones.
As Arena are supposed for those, who compete, then leave 4 stones to beginners in Simple mode.

I would be better in short games to play 2 matches with the same opponent, like 2 rounds in one game, just swapping sides (or who plays first. In Tablut there is bigger difference in strategy between escaping and capturing.

How do i see the competitive setting for the single games?

You can play a "Simple game" OR you can play a game in Arena mode.

In Arena mode, you cannot choose your opponents: a matchmaking algorithm is choosing your opponents for you.

Sorry, I expressed my through very bad, I supppose. I want to know what is the selected setting for the fixed arena games. For example, in 6nimt i tried in a game and i had to play 5 people no tactics, but normally it is 6 the "favourite" number for plain game and 5 for tactics and or professional. Who selected the mode?

Thanks for your support. You can choose between "Simple game" or "Arena mode" from the top left dropdown menu on the lobby.

uhm Are you linked me this discussion?
Retry: IN 6nimt what is the selected setting for the fixed arena game? 5p 6p, tactics, plain, etc etc?
And for any other games? Is there actually a place where i can read "Arena games for X game is YZ" and choice if play or not?
