Express Restart

Hi there,

is it possible the create an Express Restart button, similar to the Express Stop / Start?

Because currently if I want to set a new Game I always need 4 clicks like:

Express Stop -> Play this game now -> Create -> Express Start

And an Express Restart could be create the same game with same options and same players.

4 clicks does not sound big, but if you do this often it's little bit annoying.

Hi!
Did you notice the [Save] / [Load] buttons below the game zone on the studio?
They are there to avoid having to restart games often, by allowing you to save the database state at one point, then reload it in just one click when testing

Thx, but I don't want to save the state, I want to restart the game with a new setup

A new setup but with identical options if I got it right.
So what's the difference with saving the initial state of the game, then reloading it? What did I miss?
Or are you testing the setup itself?

I've been doing this too a lot recently. You need to have different cards to test specific situations out. The only way you're going to get that is by restarting the whole game.

Ok, I see. I have noted to look into an "Express Restart" possibility next time we iterate to improve the studio (but I don't know when I'll get time for this).

For now, my suggestion if what you need is a way to quickly create new configurations for testing, is to add a method to your php class to reshuffle/reassign cards (or anything else) and call it from the chat (see http://en.doc.boardgamearena.com/Tools_ ... m_the_chat). Note that you don't need to notify the interface, this method can just update the database then you hit F5 to refresh. It's pretty efficient, and you can easily define directly the situation you want to test rather than just hoping that it will come up randomly
