Multiple Lobbies/Venues Idea

Post by wayland »

Here's an idea: try having multiple lobbies, but call the main one the lobby, and the rest "venues". This should allow you to split the load better.

For example, I'm part of a board gaming group in Geelong, and it'd be nice if, on my usual board gaming night, I could go to a "GUF Geelong" venue (that's the name of the business where I usually play board games), and see people and tables in the same venue. I could chat to people at my table, but could also go to the venue lobby and chat to people at any table.

If you allowed the venue hosts to also charge entrance, and you kept some of the entrance fee for yourselves, and gave some to them, that might encourage various local gaming venues around the world to start moving their business here for the duration of CoViD-19. This would also be an additional source of revenue for you.

I can elaborate further if that's useful.

I also bought a Premium membership today (though that's also partly due to my financial situation improving in recent months).

Hope this helps!

Amazing website, had not played in a couple years but came back, got premium membership, and convinced 4 other workmates to do the same to pass the lockdown time.

Agree with some other comments the way to help is buy or extend premium memberships so they can expand server capacity in this high demand period.

Thanks again
