Newbie needing help.

Post by i_tyrone »

Hi,
I’m new to the site and wanting to run a private Hive tournament among friends who are new to the game and site. Looking for tips & suggestions.
1. Curious how time-based matchups work- do participants schedule their game or is that determined by system
2. How are ties handled or what happens when time expires and winner hasn’t been declared
3. What’s appropriate days, etc for 20 person tourney.
Thanks so much!

You might want to ask these in the Tournaments forum, as they deal with that aspect. But, I'll try my best.

Depends on if it is a turn-based or real-time game. If a real-time game, the tournament creation process determines when tables will start. (Well, it determines when tables will start with turn-based too, but this is not *as* critical a time.)

If I remember correctly, the player with the most thinking time left is declared the winner.

What type of tournament? Swiss/round robin/single elimination?

You're welcome. And, like I said, asking in the Tournaments forum may give better answers.
