I believe some sort of change is needed to how eas is calculated.
Because I was waiting forever to get a game going of hive arena, I relaxed my "willing to play settings".
I opened a new table and got a bronze player with a regular elo of 100, opened two more tables the matchmaking algorithm matched me with the same guy two more times! Easily won all three games and got a total of 30! points from them, that is waaay too much, this way I could change my matchmaking preference to only get games with far from my level and I'd be first by the end of the week...UNLESS I run into the second problem with how arena works detailed below.
I started playing arena late while there were already quite a few elites, while still in bronze i got matched with an elite and beat him for a whopping -30 points as I was bronze at the time. This needs to work a bit differently maybe have the first few arena games you play be placement matches sort of like starcraft works, that only affect your rating/league
