browser not notifying me of match

Hi, I have now twice lost a game on time. In both cases I have left the browser window waiting in automatch, and because no opponent has appeared for so long (in the case just now, I was waiting for a Go match but there seem to not be many Go players), I have been doing something else on the computer. I expected the browser to make a sound to tell me the game has started. Occasionally it does. I have sound enabled but it is very unreliable, even while actively playing in a game. Is there some more reliable way to ensure I get notified? I can't just sit in front of my computer for an hour doing nothing.

I normally always get the sound effects when I start a game. However, you can also have push notifications. Here is a screenshot of where you can find them in your profile preferences. https://ibb.co/CWntHqg

Thanks. My browser had push notifications disabled globally.
I've turned them on now for this site, so hopefully that will help.

Well, I was receiving notifications. Still think I may be missing some:

I left the browser screen a few minutes ago, waiting for a game, and came back to discover that a game had apparently started (top of screen said I am playing a realtime game) and the chat box for it has text saying my opponent has declined. I received no notification about any of this. Table #72696009
