newb question: find a player

Post by DoctorYes »

Say I want to meet a buddy online and play a game with him. We're both new here so it seems that we can't use the chat function until we reach Angel status. Is there a function to find a specific player? Will we be able to chat once we're in a game?

Is there a forum thread or help document that covers basic user interface questions (other than the FAQ, which I've read)?

In terms of communication, you'll be able to do so once your at the table of a game. Only the public chatroom is restricted. If you want to communicate outside of a game, I suggest that you use some external means (e.g. instant messaging, text messaging, facebook etc.) until you get angel status.

I think you should be able to invite another player into your game if you create a table. I've never done so, so I'm not sure if the other player actually receives an invite, or if the spot is just reserved for them. But that might be one way of communicating.

I'm not aware of there being any guide to the interface. Maybe experiment a bit. It shouldn't be too confusing. Learn from making mistakes :D

If you have questions about how to do something in a particular game, that will be easier to answer.

Also, you can get to the profile page of the player you want to communicate with (for example through Community->Find a player or a group)
Then - if this player is connected - you will get an extra chat (under the general chat) enabling you to chat privately with this specific player.

Cheers,
