Introducing: prestige and tournaments

You probably noticed this new feature on Board Game Arena: prestige.

Your prestige score is a way to measure your achievements on Board Game Arena. Each time you receive a trophy, your prestige score is increased. This score is global to all games to encourage players to try different games. A high prestige score does not mean that you are "good", but it means that you realized great things and got a lot of trophies. Most prestigious players are displayed on BGA home page.

To win more prestige you need to win more trophies. And to win more trophies you need to win tournaments.

Tournaments is a new important feature for this service. By participating in tournaments you have a chance to meet motivated opponents and try new challenges. Tournament module is still in "beta" stage, but you are welcome to come and test the first tournament created: the Dominion Daily Meeple. This tournament in a single elimination Dominion tournament for 2 to 32 players, and it starts everyday at 21:00 CET. It's mandatory to register to participate.

Don't hesitate to try it out and give your opinion about it!

If I understand clocks, 21:00 CET is about 3:00 EDT (or 12:00 PDT) for us in the United States. Is there any chance a similar tournament could be created for, say, 22:00 EDT or something similar?

Or, better yet, will it be possible for players to create their own tournaments?

I don't understand this prestige rate.
The person that got most prestigious (person appear in the site homepage) doesn't got the highest prestige number or the lowest one.
So how can i measure this prestige ? The number is mining less

I looked the CET time zone up and found the following:

CET is currently not observed because locations are on Daylight Saving Time.

And I'm now confused. Does the tournament start at 21:00 CET as if we were in winter (i.e. 20:00 in Central European Summer Time)?

Hello,

In any case, the date / time of the tournament is adapted to your current time settings. If you have a doubt on the time when the tournament begins, just go to the tournament page and check the time

Don't know if it has been noticed already, but there's something wrong with the tournament module. The last 2 tournaments couldn't be played, because there's a bug: The draw results are not displayed and if you click on the table, which you are expected to play, the table cannot be found. Also, registering/unregistering is also possible AFTER the start of the tournament.

are any chance to show the clock on the BGA page... with users from all around the world , i think is ok to show the BGA clock... and more with this tournament feature...

a little corner that show the basic info, like many sites... like users, date, hour.. etc

@astrero: In any case, BGA displays time according to the local settings of your computer. Consequently there is no "BGA time". For example, RFTG test tournaments are starting everyday at 21:00 CEST (Western Europe), but on your computer it should display the corresponding local time.

Is there any place where we can see the full prestige ranking instead of just the top 6 on the main page ? Would be nice to see IMHO
