No sound on ipad

Hi.

I am running the latest version of iOS on two iPads and there is no sound on boardgamearena on either iPad. I have tried safari, chrome and firefox and no sound. I have played different games and watched others and no sound. There is sound on my android phone and on my pc. If I mute the sound then turn it back on on either iPad there is a click sound but then nothing.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place. Can anybody help with this very frustrating problem? I have searched the internet regarding this problem but found no solution. Does boardgamearena not support sound on the iPad?

Same experience here too. As MishR15 says, I also get the sound clicks when interacting with the volume slider, and also when on the sound settings page in my profile.

But no sounds for any actual notifications which is a shame as the experience on iPad is generally quite good, the only other gripe I have with iPad play is I struggle to get up the tool-tips descriptions for most items, such as cards full abilities and values. This means I don't really want to play games on the iPad that I'm not already familiar with.

My wife is the OP. At least we know there's somebody else out there with the same problem! Both the ipads in our house are about 5 years old but running ios13 if that makes any difference at all. There must be huge numbers of people using boardgamearena on ipad. Can anybody offer any suggestions for how to get sound?

Same problem here too. Also tried different browsers with no luck. Can't get any sounds on iPad from BGA.

The tooltip issue is another big problem. For example Race for the Galaxy has so many cards that I can't remember all of them, even though I've played and owned the game for years. It would be nice to play games on the iPad, but this issue makes some games really hard to play.

Hi. I posted the problem in the bug section. To be honest I am really surprised to find this issue as BGA is tablet friendly and iPadOS is clearly very common! It makes me wonder if a few people are just unlucky. Surely this can’t be a problem on all iPads!!

I am hesitant to go premium because of this issue even though I can play on pc without issue. It’s nice to sometimes play a game on iPad but no sound just takes the shine right off.

Anybody else experiencing no sound on their iPad? More importantly perhaps does any play on iPad and get sound?

I have the same issue in Windows 10 using the MS Edge browser. I can't play anything right now to check other combinations, but I'm pretty sure I had sound on my Android phone in Firefox. I realize the OP was asking about iPads but maybe it's useful to know the issue is not limited to them. I will update for other browsers etc. when I get a chance.

Thanks for the update. No update on the bug submission but I have noticed another submission regarding no sound on the iPad. If anybody does have sound playing on an iPad please let us know. Let us know how your testing develops crapi too.

So I just took delivery of a brand new iPad running the latest operating system. There is no in game sound. Surely this is normal? The site states that it is compatible with tablets but does this mean only in terms of animation etc? Can anybody at all clarify how the site interacts with iPads?
