The XP icons reminds me of Who wants to be a Millionaire?
It's funny but it seems a bit off compared to the general graphic style of the web site

This is actually only a problem for the quick games. For short games the 10 point system fails because it is easy to play tons of games and eventually get lucky enough to win 3 in a row to move up. In longer more skill based games the 10 point system is adequate. Would be a good idea to increase points per level for the quicker more luck based games to 20 instead of the current 10.pvtparts wrote: ↑15 April 2020, 19:17 LOVE LOVE LOVE the Arena system, can't wait to see where this feature goes! There's just one thing I'd like to see changed... I think it's a bit TOO easy to rank up the Arena. I'd like to see either more leagues added, or a beefier requirement for ranking up the leagues. I mean no offense, but I have seen some rather poor players in the upper leagues... It would also feel like more of an achievement to rank up if this were the case.

I can live with new color scheme (though it was nice to look back at diversity of previous throphies - if they all look the same from now on, except by name, incentive to gain new ones will be much smaller), but giving same XP for all tournaments seems wrong to me - the new system was supposed to reduce the problematic practice of creating smallish (some would say - "fake") tourneys just for sake of farming XP - but if this system remains, it will actually incentivize it!
Also from visual standpoint it was nice to look back in history and see a 5000+ points worth trophy and nostalgically reminiscence - yeah, that was one grand tourney with many high-ELO players that I managed to win! - but now they all will be the same, stock picture of green cup with some name on it and the standard 300XP points. It may be just my subjective feeling, but for this one aspect i liked the old system better!
I like that there is a temporary solution in the meantime, before there WILL BE a improved solution as soon as the administrators have time to implement the optimised solution.sourisdudesert wrote: ↑14 April 2020, 10:24 We are aware that some players was using the previous system to cheat the "Prestige" system by creating very small tournaments to gain a lot of points.
In some months, we are going to review and update the way XP points are computed for tournaments (with many other improvements for tournaments).
When this update will be made, all XP points linked to tournaments will be re-computed with the new rules.
In the meantime, the new rules are:
_ A tournament can bring a maximum of 300 XP.
_ A tournament with less than 10 players registered worth 0 XP.
_ The number of XP points bring by tournament has been slightly decreased.
Again: this is a temporary measure to make sure no one is using tournament to cheat the system. This will be updated again later.
I agree, this could would be a good change. Also reducing the bonus for beating someone from an upper league would help.sprockitz wrote: ↑15 April 2020, 21:08This is actually only a problem for the quick games. You can already vote for this. https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=15701
Thanks, my bad, somehow missed that part! I am absolutely for having a temporary solution if it leads to improved scoring in the long run!dudi2 wrote: ↑15 April 2020, 21:09

A agree that a tournament should have a minimum number of participants and at most the better half of participants should get XP, meaning a miniumum number of participants of 6 for round robin and of 8 for swiss and knockout tournaments.
Keep up the good work!
