Hotseats keep quitting by themselves

I've only just joined as Premium, and am trying to set up a game with myself and my wife in the UK and my parents in France. I want to use my laptop to pass between myself and my wife, and Dad will use his laptop to pass between them, so I keep trying to add two hotseats. After a few seconds, though, the hotseats keep dropping out, even if we try to start the game. The chat says "hoseat01 quit the game", or words to that effect.

Am I doing something wrong, or is hotseat bugged?

Hotseat can only be used at one computer. So you can use one computer to pass between you and your wife, but your parents will each need their own account.

With two accounts from one computer, there are a couple of ways of making it work. If you want real-time games, the two accounts need to be run from different browsers (Chrome and Firefox, for example). Otherwise the system will think the second person is just the same session as the first login.
Or, you could switch to turn-based games, so the other people could disconnect from the table after each move without penalty. But, this would require logging in for every move, which is a bit of a pain.
