Arena should not pair you against someone you cannot win points from

Recently, I was pair against a person in bronze league while I was in platinum. I won the game, but did not get any sort of points for winning towards my arena ranking (see attached picture).

This is completely flawed, as there is no motivation for me to play arena matches if points cannot be won from them. If you are promoting the arena league, it needs to be meaningful, otherwise I'll just go back to simple games since wins there count for something.

At minimum, each win should increase your ranking in a league by at least one point OR the system should disallow matches where the league disparity is so high that the higher ranked player cannot gain points from a victory.

there are some options on level in advanced settings of the game, you can set it to only players your level

I fully agree. You risk losing tons of ranking when you play versus a lower ranked player and then you can't even win a point? That just doesn't make sense and gets me away from this format that usually keep me playing

I could explain in different words..

System allows you to choose your opponents level

Before you click "Play now" on game, under your Arena icon is an gear icon. Click to that. There are "My game options"
Find "Show advanced options"
> Show advanced options >
> Change


If you choose in "Far from my level" > I never want to play with "Far from my level", then you won't meet players 3 or more leagues above and, in your case, below your league.

If you win player :
1 league bolow - get 2 point
2 leagues below - get 1 p
3 leagues below - 0 p

The preferencies will save for next time you play specific game not for all your games.
